Ballina Family Medical Centre is a GP-owned general practice on the NSW Far North Coast. We're a mixed-billing practice serving Ballina, Lennox Head and the surrounding Northern Rivers community.

We currently have two positions open.

Position 1 — General Practitioner

Full-time or part-time 

We're looking for a GP to join our team. We're flexible on hours — whether you're after a full-time load or a few sessions a week, we'd like to hear from you.

About the practice

• Mixed-billing, 5-doctor practice in central Ballina

• Accredited to RACGP Standards 

• Best Practice software, HotDoc online bookings

• Practice nurse support and treatment room

About you

• FRACGP or FACRRM

• Current AHPRA general registration

• Current medical indemnity insurance

 

Why Ballina

Ballina sits between Byron Bay and Yamba on one of the best stretches of coastline in the country. Beaches, national parks and the Richmond River are all on the doorstep.

Ballina–Byron Gateway Airport has direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and Brisbane is a two-hour drive north. Good schools, no commute, and you can surf before work.

Position 2 — Practice Manager 
Full-Time | Permanent 

We're looking for an experienced Practice Manager to join our long-established, privately owned general practice in Ballina.

After more than 30 years of leadership from our retiring Practice Manager, this is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, trusted role and help shape the next chapter of our practice.

The role covers:

• Finance, payroll and billing (Medicare, DVA, WorkCover)

• HR, rostering and Fair Work compliance

• RACGP accreditation and compliance coordination

• Medicolegal and patient matter management

• Day-to-day operations and facilities​

 

We're looking for someone with:

• Demonstrated general practice management experience

• Strong Medicare/DVA/WorkCover billing knowledge

• Best Practice software experience (or equivalent)

• Solid HR and financial literacy

• Genuine people leadership skills
